[OPINION] 10 very important reasons why you should not vote Labor this election

The federal election has been called for May 3, and the outcome of this election will have more impact on the future of this country, than any before, in living memory.

A ‘Sliding Doors Moment’ as Peter Dutton calls it.

Many people tend to vote according to their core beliefs held perhaps for decades, that Liberal is for business, Labor is for the working man and the Greens are for the environment. They even pass this thought pattern onto their kids.

However, in the last 20 years, this notion has gone out the window.

Many people also do not associate their local member of a party, with the global ideology alignments of their party.

The vast majority tend to vote on ‘what’s in it for me’, or whether their local member is good at representing their community.
That may have been ok in the past but times have changed, and this perspective is short sighted.

Labor and the Greens are part of what some would call ‘global Marxism’, a movement that over many decades has infiltrated education, public service and the judiciary.

Naturally, the proponents of which, immediately dismiss the mere suggestion of its existence  as ‘conspiracy theory’ by ‘cookers’, but it’s fairly easy to see the fruits of their ‘labor’ when you open your eyes.

Under the guise of the socialist ‘environmental’ Green Left, the Western World has been subjected to radical change, including mass immigration and de-industrialisation, under the pretext of the ‘climate emergency’.

There are also ongoing attacks on western values and lifestyle, demonising religion and family principles.

The disconnect here is that most people do not see the connection between their local political left and the global left.

Under the global Left, genders have become fluid, men can compete in women’s sports and enter women’s change rooms and drag queens groom children in libraries.

Whether you believe this is the case or not, is up to you, but below are some facts of what the extreme left Albanese government has done to this country.

1.Cost of living – (The Albanese Government has made you poorer)

Are you better off now, than you were three years ago?

Most people will say ‘No’ and there’s a good reason.

In the last three years since Albo and Labor came into power, cost of living has skyrocketed.

Mortgages: Interest charges have gone up 40.3%

Housing: Up approximately 12-15%, driven by rent increases and mortgage interest charges.

Electricity: Up 18-32% (without rebates; ABS notes rebates reduced effective costs by about 25 percentage points in 2023-24).

Food and non-alcoholic beverages: Up around 13-20%, with grocery prices often cited as a pain point.

Insurance and financial services: Up 19-26%, reflecting higher premiums and interest costs.

2.The Voice – (The Albanese Government tried to divide us by race)

During his election win speech on May 21, 2022, Anthony Albanese said: “On behalf of the Australian Labor Party, I commit to the Uluru Statement from the Heart in full. We will establish an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, and we will advance reconciliation, truth-telling and agreement-making.”

He then proceeded to spend the next five months promoting and talking about, pretty much nothing else.

The Voice referendum, held on October 14, 2023, aimed to amend the Australian Constitution to establish an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) estimated the total cost at approximately $450 million.

The proposal was rejected, with 60.06% voting “No” and 39.94% voting “Yes,” based on the national tally of 17,676,347 votes.

It was a massive rejection of an Albanese pet project, seen by the vast majority as something that would divide the nation further, rather than provide much needed help to disadvantaged segments of the community.

3.Housing affordability – (The Albanese Government raised your rent and made it harder to buy a house)

Real Estate:

Real estate prices in Australia have seen significant increases since 2022, following a brief correction in 2022 due to rising interest rates.

Since 2022, Australian real estate prices have risen ~4-5% nationally from their pre-downturn peak, with a 10.8% recovery from the January 2023 low. Perth (24.1% in 2024), Brisbane (9.5%), and Adelaide (10.2%) led growth, while Melbourne (-1.8%) and Hobart (-1.6%) lagged. Sydney’s median dwelling value hit $1.19 million, though growth slowed. Tight supply, population growth, and resilient demand despite rate hikes fuelled the rebound, with rate cuts in 2025 expected to sustain momentum. Affordability remains a challenge, particularly for first-time buyers,

Rental market:

Since 2022, Australian rental prices have risen sharply, with national median rents increasing from ~$465 in mid-2022 to $627 by September 2024, a rise of ~35% in two years.

Key Trends in Rental Price Increases Since 2022

National Overview:

2022: National rental prices saw steep increases, with CoreLogic’s Rental Value Index reporting a 9.5% surge in 2022, the highest annual growth since the Global Financial Crisis.

2023: Growth continued but slowed slightly to 8.1% nationally.

2024: By September 2024, annual rent growth was 4.8%, the slowest since 2021, indicating a deceleration but still above pre-COVID averages of ~2% per year. The national median weekly rent reached $627, up from $601 in January 2024 and $437 in August 2020.

Cumulative Increase: Since March 2020, national median rents have risen by 36.1%, equivalent to an additional $171 per week.

4.Immigration & Refugees – (The Albanese Government has flooded the country with immigrants and released criminals into the community)

Massive increase in numbers

Real Estate prices and huge rental increases are partially due to an unprecedented, exponential increase in migration allowed by the Albanese government.

The total number of migrant arrivals to Australia between July 2021 and June 2024 (covering the financial years 2021-22 to 2023-24) was 1,801,000.

This has had a massive impact on infrastructure and services, including housing, healthcare, education and transport.

Illegal migrants released into the community

The Albanese government released 149 detainees following a high court ruling (despite only related to one individual).
Among those released were individuals convicted of serious crimes such as murder, sexual offenses, and violent acts. For example, it has been noted that seven murderers, 37 sex offenders, and 72 violent criminals were among those freed.
Many of them have gone on to re-offend, whilst out in the community.
3000 potential Gaza terrorist imported, without checks

Reports indicate that since the conflict in Gaza intensified following the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks, the Australian government, under Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, has granted a total of approximately 2,900 to 3,000 visas to Palestinians.
This figure includes both migration and temporary visas, with a significant portion being subclass 600 visitor (tourist) visas.
For instance, data from the Department of Home Affairs shows that between October 7, 2023, and August 12, 2024, 2,922 visas were granted to Palestinian applicants, of which more than 2,500 were tourist visas.
The way this was handled by the government, there is no certainty that some of the ‘Gaza tourists’ are actually part of Hamas, a designated terrorist organisation.

5.Medicare and bulk-billing (The Albanese Government has made GP visits more expensive)

Bulk-billing

The Albanese government claims to have improved access to GPs but the reality is that the national bulk billing rate for GP visits fell from 88.8% in 2020-21 to around 78% by 2024, a relative decline of approximately 12%.

The largest drop has been in Western Australia, with bulk billing clinics falling from 26% to 9%.

In Ellenbrook, for instance, since 2023, there is no longer a single medical centre offering bulk-billing, except for minors and concessions.

Will Dutton cut Medicare?

There is no evidence suggesting cuts to Medicare:

Pledge to Match Labor’s Investment: In February 2025, Peter Dutton committed to matching Labor’s $8.5 billion Medicare boost, adding an extra $500 million, totalling $9 billion to support bulk billing and GP access. This was framed as a response to Labor’s “healthcare crisis” and a promise to restore bulk billing to 88% (Coalition levels in 2022) from 77% under Labor.

Public Statements: Dutton has repeatedly emphasized no cuts to “frontline services,” including health, stating, “We’re not cutting health. We’ve been very clear about that. I believe very strongly in general practice.” He’s positioned the Coalition as supportive of Medicare to counter Labor’s “Mediscare” campaign.

6.Climate change and power prices – (The Albanese Government renewal energy plan is increasing power prices)

Climate Change

Whether you believe in anthropogenic (man-made) climate change or not, the fact is that Australia only contributes 1.1% to global CO2 emissions.

The 393 million tons which Australia emits per year, is replicated by China every 17 days.

Yet, here in Australia we are shutting down coal fired power stations in exchange for more expensive power, whilst sending our coal to China, for them to manufacture ‘renewable’ power like wind and solar, which they then sell to us.

Meanwhile, China and India are increasing their coal-fired power capacity by constructing 100, and 60 new power stations, respectively.

China: As of 2024, China had 243 gigawatts (GW) of coal-fired power capacity under construction or permitted, with construction starting on 94.5 GW in 2024 alone, the highest in a decade. This equates to roughly 90-100 large coal plants (assuming an average plant size of 1 GW). Additionally, 3.3 GW of previously suspended projects resumed construction in 2024.

India: In 2024, India had 26.4 GW of coal-fired capacity under construction, with plans for an additional 53.6 GW by 2032. This translates to about 25-30 plants under construction (assuming 1 GW per plant) and potentially 50-60 more planned. In 2023, one new plant began construction in India.

This ‘virtue-signalling’ by the Albanese government via its ‘Powering Australia Plan’, which targets 82% renewable energy in the National Electricity Market (NEM) by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050, with an interim goal of 43% emissions reduction below 2005 levels by 2030, means that power prices will continue to rise, whilst having zero impact on global emissions.

7.Gender ideology – (The Albanese Government supports transgender males in women’s locker rooms)

The Albanese government supports tax payer funded gender affirmation surgery, including for minors, in certain circumstances.

Labor-led state governments have implemented trans-inclusive policies. For example, South Australia (2017) and Victoria introduced policies allowing transgender and intersex students to use restrooms of their choice in schools, reflecting a supportive stance toward gender identity-based access.

Most Labor politicians when asked, have not been able to definitively answer the question ‘What is a woman’.

8.Defence & National Security, Foreign Policy – (The Albanese Government is weak on Chinese incursions and Trump won’t take Albo’s calls)

Chinese ships in Australian waters

The Chinese People’s Liberation Army-Navy (PLA-N) conducted exercises off Australia’s coast in February 2025, which involved live-fire drills in the Tasman Sea. The Labor government found out about it via a Virgin Airlines pilot.

Andrew Hastie, the Australian Shadow Minister for Defence described Albanese’s reaction to the exercises as “weak,” accusing the Prime Minister of downplaying the significance of the Chinese actions. He specifically criticized Albanese’s claim that Australia had been notified of the drills, calling it “false” and misleading.

A few weeks later, a chinese research vessel circumnavigated Australia, potentially mapping the location of our underwater internet cables, and the government failed to critised China.

Relationship with Trump and the US government.

Both Albanese, and his US ambassador Kevin Rudd, have in the past been very disparaging of Donald Trump. This hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Whatever people may think of Trump, he is the leader of the free world, and he won’t answer Albo’s calls.

March 2025 Reports: Albanese admitted in late March 2025 that he had repeatedly tried to contact Trump ahead of a tariff announcement but was unable to secure a call.

Andrew Hastie, who will be the next Defense Minister should the coalition win, is a former SAS captain and has promised a massive increase to Australia’s defense budget.

Israel and Palestine

Critics, including Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, argue Labor’s UN votes—such as supporting a December 2024 resolution for Israel’s withdrawal from Palestinian territories—are vote-chasing moves to counter Green gains in Muslim-heavy seats. Labor has “abandoned” Israel for Muslim votes. Labor’s actions, like abstaining on a UN vote about (alleged) Israeli occupation or maintaining UNRWA funding despite many of their workers later found to be members of Hamas, confirm a long-standing antisemitic strain within the Labor government.

9. Environmental Activism – (The Albanese Government funds environmental ‘lawfare’)

Environmentalists have been stalling vital Australian infrastructure projects for years.

This ‘lawfare’ is funded by Australian taxpayers via the Albanese government.

The Australian government has provided funding to environmental legal bodies that, in some instances, litigate against government entities or challenge government decisions on environmental issues.

Two notable organizations involved in such activities are the Environmental Defenders Office (EDO) and Environmental Justice Australia (EJA).

EDO is Australia’s largest environmental legal center, operating as a national, accredited community legal service dedicated to protecting the environment through legal advocacy, litigation, and law reform.

EDO is funded by the federal government, to the tune of $9.8 million over four years.

Some of the recent litigations have been:

Successfully challenged the Adani mine approval (2015) for failing to consider conservation advice for species like the Yakka Skink.

Represented clients in the Munkara v Santos case (2024), though concerns were raised about EDO’s conduct in this case.

Secured the refusal of the Rocky Hill coal mine (2019) in NSW.

Trid to stop the Woodside’s Scarborough gas project, potentially employing 3000 people.

We are literally paying to commit economic suicide.  In Peter Duttons budget reply, he announced the defunding of the Environmental Defenders Office.

10.Albanese government tax on vehicles – (The Albanese Government will force massive price increases on motor vehicles )

New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES)

The NVES, announced by the Albanese government in February 2024 and effective from January 1, 2025, sets a yearly cap on the average CO2 emissions for new passenger and light commercial vehicles sold in Australia.

Vehicles Affected:

•            High-emission vehicles like utes (e.g., Ford Ranger, Toyota HiLux, Isuzu D-Max), SUVs (e.g., Toyota RAV4, Toyota LandCruiser), and 4WDs are most impacted, as they typically have higher CO2 emissions.

•            Industry estimates suggest price increases by 2029:

•            Ford Ranger: Up to $17,950 extra.

•            Toyota HiLux: Up to $14,490.

•            Toyota RAV4 (hybrid): Up to $4,890.

•            Toyota LandCruiser: Up to $25,000.

If you’ve managed to get this far, there’s one more point to make.

The Liberal coalition is only the lesser of two evils.

Let’s not kid ourselves that these so-called conservatives selflessly uphold free speech and western values.

There are many politicians in both parties whose views overlap, and self interest is still a driving part for most of them.

But the reality is that parties like One Nation, or Libertarians, will never form government.

The best they can hope for is numbers in the senate, to hold the government of the day more accountable.

Despite what Albo has been saying about the Greens, their hate for the Australian Flag and values, their antisemitism and their anarchist protests, Albo and Labor are relying on the Greens to win Government, and have put them at number two on their how-to-vote cards, across the country.

So when you go to vote, don’t listen to promises that ‘might’ give you a short term reprieve, or the outright lies of Labor about Medicare or the cost of nuclear, but make sure you vote for people who have our country’s long term future at heart.

That’s NOT Labor/Greens.
