Ellenbrook United Football Club has had an exhilarating week on the pitch, facing off against some tough competition that tested their skills and resilience. With a thrilling match against Perth Saints on Sunday followed by a challenging encounter with Westnam on Tuesday night, the team showcased their determination and grit.

Sunday Showdown: Ellenbrook vs. Perth Saints

This past Sunday, Ellenbrook United took on the Perth Saints in a highly anticipated clash that featured the league’s top two goal scorers going head-to-head. A good turn out for fans who were eager to witness what promised to be an electrifying match.

The game started intensely, with both teams pushing hard for an early advantage. Elise Cunningham from Ellenbrook United opened the scoring, sending the home crowd into a frenzy with a well-placed shot that found the back of the net. However, the lead was short-lived as Perth Saints quickly responded, levelling the score just before halftime.

Tracey Moore with a powerful kick scorching the ball to the top left hand corner from outside the 16 yard box however the keeper had her ground covered with which looked to be a well gripped save but the powerful force of Tracey Moore’s kick was just to much for the Westnam Keeper, sliding through her fingers into the net giving Ellenbrook a 1 up lead.

Ellenbrook United had many great plays across the park with midfield and forwards Loan Ho,

keely Dodd, Danielle Robertson, Isabelle Chilman, Tracey Moore, Elise Cunningham, Makayla Moody, Skyla Erasmus and Areji Chuot . Structure was held well by defence with defenders Blaire Cowie, Gemma Griffiths, Louise Tucker and Shannon Wrigley who has been a massive asset for Ellenbrook United’s backline this season.

Captain Natasha Blackman didn’t hesitate when her team needed a fill in goalkeeper and stepped up to the job. Determined, Tash made some exceptional decisions throughout the game, giving her team great opportunities for play. Her team giving her appreciation and gratitude for showing leadership.

Elise Cunningham once again emerged as a key player; her relentless pursuit of the ball led to a crucial penalty for Ellenbrook. Converting the opportunity, Elise scored the equalising goal, showcasing her skill and determination under pressure, dedicating her goal to her recent passed brother to celebrate his birthday.
