Swan Valley’s favourite family roost has done it again.
The Henley Brook — better known to locals as The Hen — has been named winner of the Family Dining Award at the 2026 AHA & Coca-Cola Hospitality Awards for Excellence.
The award was announced on Monday night at the Stone & Wood Gala Ball at Crown Perth, in front of more than 1,200 guests. Percy’s at The Stirling Arms Hotel in Guildford received a highly commended in the same category.
It is the latest recognition for the popular Henley Brook pub, which previously won WA’s Best Family Dining in 2018, 2019 and 2025. The venue also holds a Swan Chamber of Commerce Best Customer Service award.
Opened in March 2016 as a “pub in a paddock,” The Hen has grown into a Swan Valley institution over the past decade. Its combination of solid pub grub, a strong local drinks list and generous outdoor space has made it a go-to for families from across Perth’s north-east and visitors exploring the Valley.
Kids can roam free on the big lawn with rope swings, sandpits, footy goals and cubby-building spots, while adults settle in for wood-fired pizzas, parmys, share plates or a tasting platter, paired with one of more than 20 taps featuring local and WA beers. Live music most weekends and free kids’ entertainment on Sundays add to the relaxed, all-ages atmosphere.
The awards night also recognised Nokturnl Hospitality Group as WA’s Best Group Venue Operator, Settlers Tavern in Margaret River as WA’s Best Regional Venue, and Stories as Perth’s Best Venue. A record 727 nominations were received across more than 40 categories.
AHA(WA) CEO Bradley Woods AM said the winners highlighted the skill and dedication of people working in venues across the state, noting that pubs, restaurants and hotels remain at the heart of WA communities and the visitor economy.
For The Hen team — including owners and long-time locals Hayley, Justin (“Juzzy”), Bondy and Anoop — the win adds to a string of honours that reflect consistent focus on family-friendly hospitality done without pretence.
The Henley Brook is at 9810 West Swan Road, Henley Brook. It is open seven days for lunch, with dinner service Tuesday to Saturday. Bookings are recommended, especially on weekends.
