Let’s get Entwined in the Swan Valley

Spring is in the air, so it’s time to get the family and friends together to plan how you will get Entwined in the Swan Valley from October 6-8.
This year’s bumper program of 40 events, proudly supported by the City of Swan, showcases the diversity of the Swan Valley’s food, beverage and cultural offerings.

Blend your own wine, make your own gin, get arty, indulge in a degustation dinner or combine a masterclass with a long lunch.
Sip and savour your way through new and returning activities only available over the Entwined weekend.
Here are just some of the ways you can get Entwined:

Unleash your inner artist at all new events:
 Aboriginal Art and Bush Tucker Sundowner, Mandoon Estate, October 7.
Create your own small masterpiece inspired by Aboriginal art and savour delicious bush tucker snacks with Mandoon Estate wines, with the Swan River as your backdrop.
 Pinch Pottery Clay Workshop, Twin Hill Wines, October 8. Spend an afternoon designing your own pinch pottery clay trinket bowl, accompanied by wine tasting and grazing boards.
 Paint and Sip, Black Swan Winery and Restaurant, October 6-8. Indulge in an afternoon or evening of themed paint and sip events; choose from still life, vines and vistas, or canines and fine wine.

Lazy long lunches:
 Long Table Red Wine and Seafood Lunch, Lamont’s Winery, October 7. Enjoy the spring weather with some of the valley’s most captivating wine varieties and a delicious selection of WA seafood.

 Progressive Long Lunch, Nikola Estate, October 8. Be guided on a delicious journey of expertly curated food and wine pairings across the historic barrel and function rooms.

Bring the family:
 Local Legends Cook Off, The Henley Brook, October 6. In an epic culinary clash, teams of local legends will ignite their cooking passion in a sizzling showdown where flavours collide.

 Kangaroo Safari, The Vines Resort, October 7. Hop aboard this unique family-friendly experience combining an acclaimed golf course, kangaroos in their natural habitat and a pre-sunset beverage.

 Baba and Dida’s European Experience, October 7. Experience a taste of traditional and authentic Croatian hospitality and entertainment surrounded by vineyards and olive trees.

Swoon in the Swan Valley:
 Jazz and Tapas Fusion, Estate at Chapel Farm, October 6. Spend an enchanted evening under twinkling lights listening to jazz melodies from Catherine Summers while dining on tapas bites.
 Twilight Picnic and Jazz, Bailey Brewing Co, October 7. Enjoy a Swan Valley sunset and concert from The Jazz Makers while indulging in a delicious picnic on the lawn.

Lift your drinks game:
 Red Wine Blending Masterclass, RiverBank Estate, October 7. Discover your inner winemaker as you learn the secrets behind crafting the perfect blend with head winemaker, Colby Quirk.
 Craft Cider Alchemist Workshop, Funk 2.0 by Funk Cider, October 7. A fun and interactive craft cider workshop where you will taste, blend and take home a squealer of your creation.
 Sinful Gin Distilling Masterclass, Sin Gin, Swan Settlers Market, October 7. Mix a master distiller’s expert knowledge, raw produce, your creativity and sense of adventure to create a uniquely-flavoured 500ml bottle of gin.
 Sparkling Masterclass, Garbin Estate Wines, October 8. Join Peter Garbin to learn about the process of making sparkling wine. After, enjoy tastings galore and a cheese platter.

Decadent degustations:
 Twilight Degustation Dinner, Pinelli Estate Winery Restaurant, October 6. Enjoy a five-course degustation of local fare while overlooking the pristine vineyard, with estate wines selected by Daniel Pinelli.
 Vineyard Walk and Degustation Dinner, Upper Reach Winery, October 7. Take a twilight vineyard walk with a glass of Sparkling Chardonnay, followed by a degustation dinner showcasing local seasonal produce.
 1840 Degustation at Sandalford, October 7. Indulge in the ultimate five-course culinary journey and degustation dinner event with matching wines from Sandalford’s Swan Valley 1840 collection.

Try your hand at something new:
 Mondo Nougat Mystery Masterclass, October 7. Give your arms and taste buds a workout creating your own flavour with Australian native, Swan Valley, and classic ingredients.
 Holy Ravioli, Pasta in the Valley, October 7. Receive expert guidance to learn how to make ravioli by hand, with a filling of your choice. Buon appetito!

Toast to high tea:
 Champagne & Gumboots High Tea, October 7. Cheers to the inaugural 100 per cent gluten-free, Coeliac Australia-accredited high tea, including a glass of Sittella sparkling.
 Mulberry Afternoon Delights High Tea, Mulberry Estate, October 8. Experience a three-tiered feast of sweet and savoury treats, accompanied by sparkling wine, tea and coffee, overlooking the Swan River.

David Lucas, City of Swan Mayor, said this year’s bumper Entwined program offered a smorgasbord of options to help entice people to plan a day or night out in the Swan Valley.
“We have so many wonderful indoor and outdoor dining options that make the ideal location for a spring get together,” he said.
“With 40 unique events to choose from that aren’t available every day, the Swan Valley will be buzzing over the Entwined weekend.
“Learn how to be a beekeeper, browse the artisan markets, try new release wines, or create something memorable to take home.”
